Céline Dion - All By Myself

When I was young
I never needed anyone
And making love was just for fun
Those days are gone
Livin' alone
I think of all the friends I've known
When I dial the telephone
Nobody's home

All by myself
Don't wanna be
All by myself
Anymore

Hard to be sure
Sometimes I feel so insecure
And loves so distant and obscure
Remains the cure

All by myself
Don't wanna be
All by myself
Anymore
All by myself
Don't wanna live
All by myself
Anymore

 When I was young
I never needed anyone
Making love was just for fun
Those days are gone

All by myself
Don't wanna be
All by myself
Anymore
All by myself
Don't wanna live
Oh
Don't wanna live
By myself, by myself
Anymore
By myself
Anymore
Oh
All by myself
Don't wanna live
I never, never, never
Needed anyone

心,累了;

Plan a Budget Trip

adopted from: 10 ways to save money while on vacation

picture from: https://www.insureandaway.co.uk/system/cms/files/files/000/000/078/original/backpacker.png
With the rising costs of flying, heading some place far is becoming more and more of a Utopian dream for many of us. A vacation, however, really doesn’t necessarily have to be a breaking-the-bank experience.
If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t crave luxury at every turn, it is completely possible to travel cheap while not having to resort to backpacking.
Here are 10 simple ways to save money while on vacation:
Book your hotel well in advance, and whenever possible, check out Airbnb.com — it’s a place where people around the world list their rooms, apartments, and homes for rent and you’ll have access to basic amenities. Many of the listed accommodations are centrally located, and you’re free to peruse reviews written by previous guests.
Hostels are another option — aside from shared bathrooms, there isn’t really anything much a hotel offers that hostels don’t. As long as the hostels are clean and well-maintained, you won’t be missing much from a luxurious hotel since you will probably be out all day anyway.
Dine cheaply. There are a myriad of alternatives to filling your tummy besides dining at a restaurant. Check out bakeries, where you’ll find all sorts of local pastries, or street food — all are priced at much more affordable prices than restaurants.
Take public transportation such as buses and trains instead of taxis, and don’t rent a car unless you absolutely have to. In most metropolitan cities around the world, you can get away with a daily or weekly pass on their buses and trains. Although you would have to walk a bit more than taking the taxi or renting a car, you would be saving money on rental and parking fees, and walking is a great way to sightsee.
Travel light. If any of your main or connecting flights are via low-cost airlines, chances are that you’ll be charged an exorbitant amount for overweight baggage.
Exchange your currency before you travel, and try to keep using cash transactions. It might be a lot easier and less of a hassle to carry a credit card around instead of wads of cash, but your bank charges extra each time you swipe your card, and the exchange rates are often much higher than the market value.
Stay outside of the city centre. Obviously, accommodation smack in the middle of the metropolitan is going to cost more than staying in the suburbs. If there is good public transportation where you’re vacationing, it’s often cheaper and not that much of a hassle to stay a little way out of town — a 15-minute train ride isn’t that far.
Shop only when you can find something that’s duty free, or a great deal cheaper than the prices back home.
• Two words — tax refunds. In many countries, sales taxes are charged upon everything you buy. Oftentimes, you can claim all of them back from immigration/customs on the way out of the country. Remember to keep all your receipts.
• Check out group, student, or membership discounts. Many tourist attractions have special group rates, so if you’re travelling in a group, remember to check those out. Students and holders of certain memberships such as credit cards or banks are also entitled to discounts at certain places.
• Take a city tour! Instead of trying to visit all the tourist attractions around town yourself (and therefore paying for transportation), follow a tour instead. There are lots of hop-on, hop-off tours in big cities around the world (London, New York, etc) and the buses run all day for free. They often also offer bundled tickets that give you entrance to attractions at a cheaper rate.

my dream office

in future, my office will be like this...

Enjoy your life, say NO to OT

In an effort to end overworking and offer some sort of work-like balance, the Amsterdam-based office for Heldergroendisappears at 6PM every night and turns into an open space for yoga, dancing, and other creative activities. The desks are attached to industrial strength steel cables that allow it to retract into the ceiling. During the day, the tables rest on wheeled cabinets.

With all the office furniture on wheels and the desks hanging from cables, everything is moveable and easily hidden once the clock strikes six. While most spaces might be designed to make staying late at work more comfortable, Heldergroen's office makes it clear that work time is over and encourages employees to live their lives outside of work.

how important is attitude?

if
A - Z = 1 - 26

then

Knowledge = 96
Hardwork = 98

but

Attitude = 100

in society, no matter how clever you are, without wisdom, you are just a joke.

慢慢明白了,戴三百块的表和三百万的表,时间是一样的;

喝三十块的酒和三千块的酒,呕吐是一样的;

The Purge: Anarchy

just a very ordinary movie
not really nice
everything was just expected
no epic scene

things i got from this movie:

  1. revenge is not the solution, but, love is.
  2. karma

The Maze Runner

not as good as i expected
the effect/impact was not enough

i was expecting some motivation stuff
but it wasn't really there

too many things to tell in the movie.. but, most of the things were just being described briefly
the fighting scenes were not enough.. no extraordinary scene

anyway, there are still something to get from that movie..

  1. when everyone says there is no way out, still, you got to believe in yourself and give it a try
  2. nothing is impossible. you will never know if you never try
  3. two persons taking the same path, yet, the outcome might be different
  4. if you wanna get out of the box, you need to think out of the box
  5. believe in yourself. you can, if you think that you can.

message after working hour

why do you post all the serious messages after working hour?
others might be enjoying their life
and it's ruined by your messages

come on..
do you expect me to take out my phone and type those messages during working hour?
i only have time to convey the messages after work
and i am not good at MIA (missing in action)

you have life
and so do I

why do i need to do these after working hour?
do you think that i will have extra pay for that?
or i will be credited for these?
or i don't need rest?
please don't be too naive

if you want to spend quality time with your love ones
kindly turn off your data/wifi
however, please do turn it on afterwards

after all, it is your responsibility to check your mail/whatsapp/facebook on regular basis
i am just here to send those friendly reminders for those who might need it
never to disturb you
i too      need rest

人若累了 可以休息;

張靚穎《我相信》MV(新浪首發)

。。。
。。。

Do You Turn Red After Half a Beer? You Could Have Alcohol Flush Reaction
adopted from: http://www.healthworks.my/alcohol-flush-syndrome/

  • Flushing is caused by an enzyme disorder in your liver which cannot break down acetaldehyde.
  • Alcohol flush syndrome has been associated with higher risk of esophageal cancer and hypertension.
  • There’s no cure to alcohol flush syndrome, except for avoiding alcohol.

Hello there drinker! What’s your favourite drink? Oh, beer you say? Do you turn red really quickly after consuming half a can of your favourite beer?
If your answer is yes, ever stop to wonder what that means? We asked a few people at a bar one night, after feasting our eyes on blotchy redness all over.
“My circulation is in tip top condition, that’s why!” one guy exclaimed.
“I’m allergic to alcohol, but I like drinking sometimes,” said another girl.
“It’s just our Chinese genes!” said a group of friends.
A study showed about a third of Japanese, Chinese, and Koreans respond to alcohol by turning red. It’s such a common sight to see a sea of red faces all over bars and clubs in Asia that we don’t even think to question it. Those of us blessed enough to not turn into a tomato after a drink or two, laugh at our friends who do. And those of us who turn red? We shrug it off as a harmless genetic malfunction and continue with our drinking habits. But is it all just fun and games?

Why Does The Dreaded Alcohol Flush Happen?

Some people believe this is due to Asians being unable to metabolise alcohol. While that might sound very scientifically accurate, it’s not the case.
And no, it’s also not you having exceptionally good blood circulation.
Alcohol is metabolised in your liver, where it is oxidised first to acetaldehyde, and then converted to acetate by an enzyme known as aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH2).
Source: physrev.physiology.org
Source: physrev.physiology.org
Those who turn red after a bit of alcohol have a genetic change in their ALDH2. The gene variant causes the body to metabolise alcohol more quickly, but become less efficient in breaking down acetaldehyde. The buildup of acetaldehyde is what causes your blood vessels to dilate and your skin to turn red[1].
This condition is known as alcohol flush reaction, but since it happens mostly to Asians, it’s been nicknamed the Asian flush or the Asian glow [2]. Lovely name, indeed.

What Other Symptoms Will I Get Besides the Redness?

Well, you wouldn’t be a stranger to headaches and nausea. Some people also report itchiness on the skin.
Source: memecrunch.com
Source: memecrunch.com

The Asian Flush is Associated with Higher Risk of Hypertension and Cancer

Some people dislike drinking because of the redness and itchiness they get on their skin, while some others ignore the cosmetic side effects to have a good night out.
But recent studies have revealed evidence that ALDH2-deficient individuals are at much higher risk of developing esophageal cancer from consuming alcohol, than those with a fully active ALDH2 [3]. Esophageal cancer also happens to be one of the deadliest cancers in the world, with pretty low survival rates. [4]
Acetaldehyde is a metabolite of alcohol, but is also an animal carcinogen and mutagen with recognised cancer-promoting properties [5].
When the tissues of your upper aerodigestive tract is repeatedly exposed to acetaldehyde, the probability of DNA damage and mutation could also increase [6].
In a paper published in 2013, researchers studied 1,763 men, including non-drinkers, flushers, and non-flushers. They found that flushers who drank the same amount of alcohol (more than 4 drinks, less than 8) as non-flushers were at higher odds of getting hypertension. The risk of alcohol-related hypertension was also much higher among flushers who consumes more than 4 drinks a week [7].

Treatment Options for Alcohol Flush

Unfortunately since it’s a genetic problem, there’s currently no cure for the alcohol flush, except to avoid alcohol.
Although the use of antihistamines can prevent the redness, it doesn’t change the fact that your body cannot break down acetaldehyde. This means you’re still putting yourself at risk for developing esophageal cancer and hypertension if you continue drinking.

But It’s Not All Bad

Since the enzyme disorder causes people to go red after just a tiny hint of alcohol, there are plenty who shy away from drinking. Nobody likes hearing embarrassing stuff like “Hey you look like a tomato” or “Man, you’re red as a butt on fire” all the time.
Source: tofumag.com
Source: tofumag.com
Also, since flushers experience some not-so-great reactions when downing alcohol (like itchy skin, headaches, etc), they can’t really drink too much. Studies show how this can play a role in preventing alcoholism [8].
So effective is the flush at preventing you from becoming an alcoholic that pharmaceutical companies are using the science behind it to develop drugs to help recovering alcoholics. Antabuse uses Disulfiram to block the processing of alcohol in the body [9], which causes the same symptoms as flushing.

What To Do Now

If you get red after a drink or two, you should think about drinking less, a lot less. While you may call us a party pooper, it’s good to understand that you’re putting yourself at a higher risk of developing both cancer and hypertension.
Also, to those who do not turn red after drinking, this is not a license to go crazy. Moderation still reigns supreme, and too much alcohol can also do nasty things to your body. General agreement of “moderate drinking” is about one to two drinks a day for men, and one drink a day for women.

friend? 'friend'?

it's kind of hurt
when the one you thought who has been supporting you at the back
is actually stabbing you

what can i say?
i am neither a good friend nor a good leader

it's time to review what i have done
to find out what's the root of everything

representative

how to born generation X and Y with generation Z?
how to make people with different personalities and interest to mingle around happily?
how to make people feel belonged?
how to make people come to me when they have problem?
how how how and how???
arrrghhh

being a representative is always challenging
it's tricky to please both sides
still learning hard on this

striving for a win-win solution

or maybe i am not meant for this
shall i just step down and let others take over?
hmmm..... good question... ... ...

may all be well and happy always

friends

when it's time to let go
just let it go

after all, the initial goal has achieved.
it's time to go

may all be well and happy always :D

not everyone is meant to be as a group

it's hard to accept that you are excluded
from a group of friends that you think you are close to

sometimes
there is nothing much we can do
but just keep pretending that it doesn't happen

why try hard to unite those with
different personalities
different perception
different interest?
when they are just not meant to be together

at some point, i shall just leave them alone

though there are just a few
yet shall not try to bring everyone to the next station
it will just make everyone suffer

thanks to those who stay
and those who left

may all be well and happy always :)
